January 2022 Pool Schedule

The Kiddie Pool and Lap Pool will still be closed for all of January for renovations. Hot tubs are still open and available for use!

Pool Etiquette

We would like everyone to have an enjoyable time here at Summit Athletic Club. Please follow these simple rules so that everyone can continue to enjoy our aquatics amenities and programs:

  1. Be prepared to share:  Please share lane space when the pool is busy.
  2. Be familiar with the schedule: We have several aquatics programs, all of which will vary depending on the season. Please make sure you have the most recent pool schedule (you may pick one up at the front desk). Available lap lanes are indicated. However, you may need to share a lane.
  3. Lap swimmers have priority: We are a family-friendly facility. However, our lap swimmers take priority over leisure swimmers. During the spring and summer seasons, please adhere to signs posted. In off seasons, leisure swimmers are welcome in our pool, but please be courteous of those that have come to workout.
  4. Please shower before entering the pool: Be aware that any foreign matter in the pool compromises the cleanliness of the water. This includes body lotion, tanning oils, hair conditioner, deodorant, etc. Please help us keep the pool clean!

Aquatic Department Rules

  • All members and guests must shower off before entering the pool.
  • Children under the age of 3 must wear proper swim attire of three (3) layers: swim diaper, plastic pant, and swim suit. No exceptions.
  • No diving, running, or horseplay allowed.
  • Hot tub age requirements must be followed at all times.
  • Summit staff and aquatics representatives may stop any act that is deemed unsafe, destructive, or inappropriate.

Signing up for Swimming Lessons

For all swim lessons, participants must be at least 3 years old to sign up. Swim lessons are offered to both members and nonmembers.

Private Swim Lessons

Private swim lessons are offered year round and provide a one-on-one experience. From the beginner to the athlete, our aquatics team is experienced instructing all skills and levels.

Swim lesson sign-up sheets are linked below.

Summer Group Lessons

There are nine (9) weeks of group lessons offered through the summer. Each session consists of a 30 minute lesson held Monday through Thursday. There are seven (7) session times offered each day: four (4) during the morning hours and three (3) during the afternoon hours. All levels are taught during each time.

  • Level 1 is our youngest group, generally involving children who are new to the water. Our biggest goal for Level 1 is learning water safety. Level 1 swimmers learn how to enter and exit the water safely, float on their stomach and back, as well as hold their breath and kick.
  • Level 2 swimmers learn how to tread water, coordinate their arms and legs in order to attempt freestyle and backstroke, and jump into the water and be able to swim back to the wall on their own.
  • Level 3 swimmers master freestyle and backstroke, and attempt breaststroke, butterfly, and dives.
  • Level 4 swimmers master all four strokes (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly) as well as perform a proper dive.

To sign up for summer group lessons, reserve a spot in your desired session and time by typing your child’s first and last name on the spreadsheet. If you are signing up more than one child, make sure to type only one name in each spot. Then print and turn your completed group lesson form into the front desk at our River Road location.
