Summit Athletic Club Swim Lessons

Ages 3-6

Level 1: Water Comfort

Perfect for new swimmers building confidence and safety.

Skills include:

  • Putting face in the water and holding breath for 10 seconds 
  • Retrieving toys from the bottom
  • Front float for 5 seconds
  • Assisted back float for 5 seconds

Level 2: Independent Swimming Skills
Prerequisite: Level 1
Swimmers learn:

  • Swim on their front and roll to an unassisted back float
  • Back float independently for 15 feet
  • Transition front‑to‑back‑to‑front for 20 feet

Level 3: Stroke & Skill Refinement
Prerequisite: Level 2

Swimmers learn:

  • Freestyle with proper side breathing
  • Backstroke technique
  • Elementary backstroke
  • Introduction to breaststroke and butterfly

Ages 7-12

Level 1: Water Comfort
Perfect for new swimmers building confidence and safety.

Skills include:

  • Begin freestyle side breathing

Level 3: Stroke & Skill Refinement
Prerequisite: Level 2
Swimmers learn:

  • Freestyle with proper side breathing
  • Backstroke technique
  • Elementary backstroke
  • Refined breaststroke and butterfly
  • Treading water 2 minutes

Stroke Development
Ages 7–14

10:15–11:00am or 5:30-6:15pm
Designed for swimmers who can swim 25 yards freestyle with side breathing and 25 yards backstroke.

Focus areas include:

  • Refining technique in all four competitive strokes
  • Improving freestyle efficiency and breathing
  • Strengthening backstroke skills
  • Developing breaststroke and butterfly to meet USS‑legal standards

Perfect for swimmers preparing for competitive or pre‑team environments.

Parent–Tot Classes
Ages 6–36 months

Session 3: June 15-19

A fun, supportive parent/child class designed to build early water comfort and safety. 

Adults (18+) accompany their child in the water while instructors guide activities that promote water enrichment, body awareness, and confidence.

Children must wear reusable swim diapers. A swim shirt is recommended to help keep little ones warm.

Terms and Conditions

  • Payment Policy: Full payment is required before the first scheduled lesson/session.
    • Cancellation & Rebooking:Cancellations made at least 48 hours before a scheduled lesson will incur a $15 rebooking fee.
    • Cancellations or “no-shows” within 48 hours of the scheduled lesson will be charged the full lesson price, with no make-up lesson provided.
  • Punctuality: If you arrive late, your child’s lesson will still end at the originally scheduled time. Sessions will not be extended to accommodate late arrivals.
  • Instructor Availability: While we strive to keep your child with their regular instructor for consistency and comfort, we reserve the right to provide a substitute instructor when necessary.
  • Swim Goggles: Goggles are generally not recommended until swimmers can confidently submerge their face in the water. Please note that Summit Athletic Club does not provide swim goggles for lessons.
  • Health & Safety Regulations: In compliance with Utah state health regulations, non-potty-trained swimmers must wear appropriate protective layers:
    • Swim Diapers – Required for all non-potty-trained children.
    • Plastic Pants – A snug-fitting plastic pant must be worn over the swim diaper.
    • Swimsuit – A swimsuit must be worn over both layers.
    • Additionally, diaper changes must be done in designated changing areas, as changing on the pool deck is strictly prohibited to maintain hygiene standards.
  • Lesson Package Expiration: All swim lesson packages expire one year from the date of purchase.
